The secret to good health and sustainable living is not a secret anymore, which is a relief for all.
And the secret? Plant-based living.
Plant-Based Foods Industry Association (PBFIA) and Ind Food and Beverage Association (IFBA) announced their collaboration to further accelerate the growth of the plant-based foods industry, which is bound to benefit companies and consumers alike, with a special emphasis on the safety and health of our country’s population.
As an ardent follower of plant-based living for a number of years now, I am very pleased to hear this news and all that it will bring to the current and future generations of our country.
Ever since the pandemic began, people became more aware about their deteriorating health due to a combination of poor diet choices, lack of physical activity and being heavily reliant on pre-packaged and processed foods with minimal nutritional value and maximum damage to health. This led to people across the country making substantial changes to their lifestyle and choices to eat cleaner and exercise regularly. The collaboration between PBFIA and IFBA aims to aid that process even more by educating consumers on their food choices and stakeholders on the importance of plant-based lifestyle as the future of the food industry.
Here’s what senior executives from both the companies said:
Sanjay Sethi, Executive Director said, “Plant-Based Foods Industry Association (PBFIA) and Ind Food and Beverage Association (IFBA) working together side by side will only make the stakeholders of the food and beverage industry happier, especially in the plant-based foods sector. Both organisations bring diverse experience in the food and beverage sector. The major driving factor of both organisations is sustainability in all forms – environment, health, business and global impact. I am stoked to initiate and announce the long-term bond, not only amongst the two associations but also amongst individuals working in them.”
Deepak Jolly, Chairperson, IFBA said, “India has the largest vegetarian population and this trend is now catching up across the globe. We are extremely happy to collaborate with Plant-Based Foods Industry Association (PBFIA) to support plant-based foods companies and their ecosystem. The association with PBFIA is a one-stop solution for connecting with numerous plant-based foods companies in order to educate the consumers about a healthier lifestyle.”
What this potentially means for you as a consumer:
– Increased awareness and information about nutrition and diet through educational campaigns conducted by various companies, stakeholders and government bodies.
– More plant-based food options to choose from at better pricing points in addition to widespread availability.
– Better regulation and governance by the respective government bodies to ensure vigilant norms that will lead to high-quality and healthy food options in the market.
– The opportunity to make environmentally-sustainable choices and play your part in reducing the burden on our planet’s depleting natural resources.
